Once in our Junior year of high school and then again during our senior year while the class went to DC for the senior trip, some of us headed to the resort for a week. Shallow river by the resort. We will later drive across this with Dennis's 4X4 Scout. The original SUVWe did have ice cold beverage.A view from one of the hills we took the 4X4 up.We even brought along some tunes. We planned ahead!.They played some practical joke on me after I passed out. I was furious, pissed off, and I wanted to kick some ass!!Mark in the kitchen cooking something to eat. Thank god he was a boy scout! All Dennis and I knew how to do was open up beers. My 1975 Nova. After the paint job. I had this car for my last couple of years of high school and my first couple of years in college. The memories this car has!!!Headlight covers before you could buy headlight covers! If I only would have patened it!My Nova before the paint job.File0016.jpg (39386 bytes)Tim's Capri. The family riding mower. This pic was taken around 82-84. Notice the antena for the radio, and the speaker mounted down by the shifter knob. Can't believe it's almost twenty years later, and again I have a riding lawnmower with a radio. Some people just don't grow up!File0019.jpg (21971 bytes)Mom and meMe early high school yearsTim and me getting ready for the prom our senior year. One more pic of my customized riding mower. Had to get warmed up on a few beers.Chris's old car in high school.Dennis with some girls. The old farm house where I grew up. Me getting the family riding mower buried in the mud out in the field. Before I customized it. I wouldn't get it muddy after I painted it.Very buried! Not bad for a 13 yera old. Pic after we moved to Okawville. No more muddy fields around. Here the mower is in the customization stage.I had a string tied to the governor, and when I pulled it, the mower would go wild! This was a pic of the mower when my dad first bought it back in 1969. My mom is modeling it!Dennis driving across the river with his scout. Crazy fool. We could have lost it in the river! We wanted to see if we could hear Dennis's stereo from almost a mile and a half away. If you can see the blue speck up on the hill, that is Dennis. Sure enough, we could hear the radio load and clear!!The river that we crossed with the scout.Mark getting firewood.Eating steak!Mark drunk off his ass!Me just chillin'One of the trails down there in AR.The only way that Dennis's parents let us "kids" stay at their house, was to promise them we cleaned it up for them.Dennis playing the guitar!?Another pic of the scout crossing the creek. We almost lost in a 4ft underwater ditch. Oops! What the hell is the shaving cream on the glasses for?We scoped out the pool for babes. The house where we stayed.Well, I think we did too much hill climbing and river crossing. We lost the tranny about half way back to Illinois. My drum set in high school.Inside of my nova.I'll never for get this night. I lived on the main street in Okawville, so anyone going in or out of town would pretty much pass by my house. This was during a week day (school day). Couple of guys stopped over for a few beers. No big deal. Then every time some one would pass by the house they seen some cars outside, so they thought they would stop by. Well the more cars that stopped, the more interesting it looked to stop by. Before it was over, we had 10-15 over getting trashed on a school night. Talk about an impromptu party!File0053.jpg (30109 bytes)File0054.jpg (26526 bytes)And yes, it did get a little wild. High school days were the days!
