Buttercream Icing

Cream butter and shortening with mixer on medium speed. Add vanilla. Gradually add sugar one cup at a time. After mixing is complete, add milk until light and fluffy. |

Found similar recipe that called for 1 more cup of sugar and up to 1/4C of
milk.
Try using just the butter in place of the Crisco (2 sticks total) Will make more off white but that would be ok if coloring. This recipe leaves the result white, but just lacks all the flavor. Still good though. This batch did turn out creamy. The frosting recipe was much fluffier. Used the syrup instead of milk. Good. Then add additional 2 T of water or milk. Overall, very good! Other notes: If putting on decor (sprinkles or..) do so right after applying icing, as it will dry and not stick to cookie. Bigger shapes are better to used. Use large spatula to frost |
