In a 5 qt. pot or bigger. Start with the pot 1/2 full.

Make sure the pot is never less than half full. When adding meat and rice, add water up to 3/4 full. To make homemade Gumbo / Jambalaya mix: Mix equal parts of these spices. Course ground or minced is best.
